  • Kowalski’s

    Kowalski’s Uptown Market & Wine Shop on Hennepin Avenue will expand into Walgreens space next door, adding 10,500 square feet to their grocery. The expansion includes new concepts such as a pasta bar and several departments receiving more space including an expanded gift department.  The store will remain open during the expansion.


    Marco announced the promotion of Todd Erne to Vice President of IT Solutions.   Since January 2016, Erne has held the role of Director of Sales, based in the St. Louis Park, Minnesota office of Marco.

    Lommen Abdo

    Lauren Nuffort, a litigator, and Jesse Beier, an estate planning and corporate attorney, joined Lommen Abdo as associates in January 2017. Beier works with Minnesota and Wisconsin clients to create estate and business succession plans that help them achieve their goals. Nuffort brings her skills to the firm's Commercial Litigation Practice Group where she will continue her subrogation practice and handles professional liability defense matters.

    PCL Construction Enterprises

    PCL Construction Enterprises, Inc. has been named #19 on the list of 2017 Best Workplaces for Giving Back  by the Great Place to Work® institute and Fortune magazine. This is the first year PCL has been named to this list. The Minneapolis office has continuously participated in local charitable events and programs including Mille Lacs Polar Plunge, NorthPoint Health & Wellness and Second Harvest Heartland food shelves, and Minnesota Hockey Day. Last year also marked the eight consecutive year of giving to the Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center’s Family Reunification program. 

    James Beard Semi-Finalists 2017

    The James Beard  Foundation announced its list of restaurant and chef semifinalists for its 27th annual awards.  Chamber member restaurants receiving nominations: At the Walker Art Center, Esker Grove for Best New Restaurant and at Surly Brewing Co., Jorge Guzman for Best Chef-Midwest. 

    2017 Titans of Technology

    The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal  announced its 2017 Titans of Technology honorees. These awards recognize individuals who are transforming Minnesota’s tech industry and positively impacting the local economy. Chamber members being honored include:

    *Amanda LaGrange, Tech Dump – in the Community Heroes category, which recognizes individuals within the tech industry for their outstanding community involvement

    *Mike McCullough, Be The Match and Steve Knutson, Marco in the  CIOs/CTOs category , which honors top IT executives at public or private companies, nonprofits or government agencies.



    LEO A DALY announced the appointment of Eric Rodriguez, PE, as senior mechanical engineer.  Rodriguez will be responsible for mechanical-systems design and client interaction on large projects, while also serving as a technical resource to younger staff.  He brings 18 years of industry experience with local engineering firms and as a member of the engineering and facilities team at Target Corporation. His experience includes industrial, retail, educational and healthcare project types.
