Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce announces Leadership Twin Cities class of 2017-2018September 19, 2017MINNEAPOLIS (Sept. 19, 2017) —The Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce announced the 2017-2018 class of Leadership Twin Cities at the program’s annual kickoff retreat. Applicants were selected based on their commitment to improving the Minneapolis/Saint Paul community, leadership within professional and volunteer roles and demonstrated interest in professional development.
“We are thrilled to introduce this dynamic group of individuals, all of whom share an interest in learning about the MSP region and developing knowledge and tools that enhance their community leadership skill set,” said Cheri Gengler, Director of Foundation at the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The Leadership Twin Cities program provides an in-depth education on the critical issues facing the region and equips participants for an active role in guiding and improving the future of their communities. Throughout the nine-month program, which runs from September to May, participants develop their leadership skills by participating in team-building exercises, tours and talks with business and community leaders. Topics include economic development, education and public safety.
More than 2,000 individuals have completed the Leadership Twin Cities program since its inception in 1976.
